Red, White, and Blue Frozen Slushy Drink Recipe

Ingredients:

  • Blue Layer:
    • 1 cup blueberries
    • 1/2 cup water
    • 2 tablespoons sugar
    • 1/2 cup blue curaçao
    • 1 cup ice
  • White Layer:
    • 1 cup coconut milk
    • 2 tablespoons sugar
    • 1/2 cup rum (chilled)
    • 1 cup ice
  • Red Layer:
    • 1 cup strawberries, hulled
    • 1/2 cup water
    • 2 tablespoons sugar
    • 1/2 cup vodka
    • 1 cup ice

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Blue Layer:
    • In a blender, combine the blueberries, water, sugar, and blue curaçao. Blend until smooth.
    • Add the ice and blend until you have a slushy consistency.
    • Pour the blue layer into a tall glass, filling it about one-third of the way.
    • Place the glass in the freezer to keep the layer firm while you prepare the next layer.
  2. Prepare the White Layer:
    • Rinse the blender.
    • Combine the coconut milk, sugar, and rum in the blender. Blend until smooth.
    • Add the ice and blend until you have a slushy consistency.
    • Slowly pour the white layer over the back of a spoon (held just above the blue layer) or directly into the glass to create the white layer.
    • Place the glass back in the freezer to keep the layer firm.
  3. Prepare the Red Layer:
    • Rinse the blender again.
    • Combine the strawberries, water, sugar, and vodka in the blender. Blend until smooth.
    • Add the ice and blend until you have a slushy consistency.
    • Slowly pour the red layer over the back of a spoon (held just above the white layer) or directly into the glass to create the red layer.
  4. Serve:
    • Serve immediately with a festive straw and garnish with fresh berries if desired.
