Check Your Pantry for Recalled Sempio Korean Ginseng Chicken Stew

Food Recall

Sempio Food Services is recalling about 4,596 pounds of ready-to-eat Korean Ginseng Chicken Stew because the products were imported without required U.S. reinspection. If you have either variety, do not eat it. Throw it away or return it to the place where you bought it.

The recall covers Sempio Korean Ginseng Chicken Stew Classic and Sempio Korean Ginseng Chicken Stew Rich. The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) says there are no confirmed reports of illness or injury connected with these products.

How to identify the recalled stew

Check the product name and the package details. The recalled stew comes in 31.75-ounce (900 g) packages. Look for a production date of March 30, 2026, and a best-by date of September 29, 2027.

Where the products were distributed

FSIS says the stew was distributed in Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and Virginia. If you shop in one of these states, check your pantry, refrigerator or freezer for either product. The notice’s listed distribution area is limited to these eight states.

What to do if you have a matching package

Do not eat the stew, even if the package is unopened or the food looks and smells normal. Either discard it or return it to the place of purchase. If you are unsure whether your package matches, compare its product name, size, dates and identifying marks with the FSIS recall notice before deciding what to do.

The recall notice reports no confirmed illnesses or injuries. Keep the check simple: look for both Sempio varieties, verify the package identifiers, and remove any matching product from your household food supply.
